David Baldwin

David has had a 40-year career as a graphic designer, and has also been painting his entire life. He is self-taught, with a process that’s about personal honesty and getting out of the way of the ideas. He strives to let go of the trickery of technique, and allow his ideas and feelings to come to the surface in the most distilled, pure manner. Simple shapes and colors create feelings and movement that evoke the complexities hidden inside the simple. Ultimately his work is about being fun and easy to live with.Also an avid cyclist and musician, and if not painting or riding his bike around Sonoma County, he is creating music (and other “sounds”) under the name “Unhowto”, which is available through all streaming platforms, check it out.Born and raised in Southern California, David now resides in Santa Rosa, California.
